Recently, Umbrella Interactive has used weblogs, RSS and wikis to support online communities and collaboration. A weblog is usually a personal or non-commercial web site that presents short comments and links in a simple dated log format, with the most recent additions at the top.

Weblogs are updated frequently, normally by an individual but sometimes by a team, and normally contain links, news and opinion on a specific subject. For example , at Umbrella Host, Andy Clarke maintains a blog about UK Web Hosting news, product updates and service enhancments, Umbrella Host Blog.

Weblogs and wikis are now even being used for in-house project management, corporate sites,knowledge management and basic websites. The weblog format is being used and re-used for an array of purposes because of it’s simplicity. The most common weblog tool that is used is WordPress.
